Updates and new features are regularly developed and released on Open Supply Hub, often based on feedback from users like you. Read what was included in the most recently released set of changes.
Here’s what you can expect from the most recent updates to Open Supply Hub:
Profile Enrichment: Climate TRACE Emissions Estimates
OS Hub is beginning to enrich production location profiles with additional data points via third-party integrations. This release features our first integration with Climate TRACE for emissions estimates*, with more data enrichments from additional partners coming soon.
Sources for Emissions Data: Emissions estimates can now appear on OS Hub production location profiles through two methods:
- Direct Climate TRACE Contributions - Climate TRACE is contributing emissions data directly for facilities, starting with the steel and cement sectors, with additional sectors to follow.
- Facility-Provided Data - Production locations can submit operational data through the new emissions estimate form in the claims process (see Release Notes from October 18, 2025 for more details), which Climate TRACE uses to calculate emissions.
How Emissions Data Appears on Profiles: Once available, emissions estimates display in a dedicated Environmental Data section on production location profiles, showing CO₂e emissions with units and data source attribution.
Technical Infrastructure: This release establishes the internal infrastructure for displaying partner-contributed data fields, including configurable labels and units. The GET /facilities/{os_ID} endpoint now includes label and unit fields for partner data, setting the foundation for future third-party integrations.
*Emissions are measured as Total CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent) using 100-year Global Warming Potential (GWP), expressed in metric tons. CO₂e is a standardized metric that converts all greenhouse gases—including methane and nitrous oxide—into the equivalent amount of CO₂ based on their heat-trapping impact over a 100-year period.

Claims Process Redesign
We've launched a comprehensive redesign of the facility claims process, transforming how production locations can take control and manage their profiles on OS Hub.
Streamlined 4-Step Process: The new claims flow replaces the previous form with an intuitive tabbed interface that guides claimants through a clear, progressive journey:
- Step 1: Eligibility Confirmation - Upfront screening to confirm eligibility before starting the claims process (only employees of the production location or of its parent company are eligible to submit a claim).
- Step 2: Contact Information - Pre-populated email address with fields for name, job title, and optional public contact visibility. Dropdown menu shows accepted document types for identity verification.
- Step 3: Business Information - Pre-populated OS ID, company name, and address with document upload for verification. Dropdown menu shows accepted document types for company verification.
- Step 4: Open Supply Hub Profile - Profile enrichment section moved earlier in the process to encourage completion. Add operational data, certifications, worker information, and environmental metrics (including Climate TRACE emissions estimates fields) to the profile.
New Beta Fields: The claims form now includes beta fields that preview features from an upcoming premium package designed to help production locations connect with customers and grow their business. These beta fields currently appear on facility profiles at no cost. Once the premium package launches, claimants will receive details on how to keep these fields active.
Key Improvements:
- Reduced cognitive load with clear step-by-step progression.
- Additional data points collection moved earlier to increase completion rates.
- Improved visual design with condensed formatting and better field organization.
- Premium and beta features clearly marked throughout the form.
What This Means for Production Locations
The redesigned claims process is easier to navigate with a clearer, step-by-step workflow. Upfront guidance on required documents at each step reduces confusion and speeds up the review process, minimizing back-and-forth requests for additional documentation. This streamlined experience benefits both claimants and the OS Hub team, while laying the foundation for future premium features.
