Updates and new features are regularly developed and released on Open Supply Hub, often based on feedback from users like you. Read what was included in the most recently released set of changes.
Here’s what you can expect from the most recent updates to Open Supply Hub:
OS Hub is beginning to enrich production location profiles with additional data points via third-party integrations. This release features the foundations for our first integration with Climate TRACE for emissions estimates, with more data enrichments from additional data partners coming soon.
Foundation for Free Emissions Estimates in Production Location Claim Process
In collaboration with Climate TRACE, OS Hub is beginning to offer free CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent*) emissions estimates as an optional feature in the production location claim process.
What is already live:
Claims Form Enhancement: Facility owners and managers can now provide operational data when claiming their profiles:
- Year of opening and closing date: the year when the production location officially started operations and the date when it permanently stopped operations.
- Estimated annual throughput: the total amount of materials or products processed in one year, measured in Kilos (Kg).
- Actual annual energy consumption: the total energy consumed in one year from all sources, measured in joules (J) for fuels and megawatt-hours (MWh) for electricity.
Upcoming changes in the next releases:
Production Location Profile Visibility: Once a claim is approved, the operational data provided by the claimant will appear on the production location profile.
Automated Emissions Calculations:
OS Hub's integration with Climate TRACE will automatically generate emissions estimates through a streamlined process: Climate TRACE will retrieve the facility data at regular intervals, calculate CO₂e emissions using their model, and return the results to OS Hub. After OS Hub's data moderation review, the emissions estimates will also be published on the approved claimed production location profile. Due to the review process, emissions estimates may take up to one month to appear on a profile.
*Emissions are measured as Total CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent) using 100-year Global Warming Potential (GWP), expressed in metric tons. CO₂e is a standardized metric that converts all greenhouse gases—including methane and nitrous oxide—into the equivalent amount of CO₂ based on their heat-trapping impact over a 100-year period.
New optional fields in the claims form allow facilities to receive free CO₂e emissions estimates and help partners calculate supply chain emissions.
API Enhancement: Access Emissions Estimates by OS ID
API users can now retrieve CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent*) emissions data using the existing GET /v1/production-locations/{os_id}/ endpoint.
NOTE: Emissions data is only available for claimed production location profiles where facility owners have provided the required operational data for emissions estimate calculations.

Updated Button Copy for Claims Submission Confirmation
We've updated the button text in the post-submission pop-up from "View My Claims" to "View My Approved Claims" to better reflect what users will see when clicking it. Since users can only access approved claims (not pending claims) through this button, the new copy sets accurate expectations and reduces confusion.
