Updates and new features are regularly developed and released on Open Supply Hub, often based on feedback from users like you. Read what was included in the most recently released set of changes.
Here’s what you can expect from the most recent updates to Open Supply Hub:
Claims & Claimed Data Quality
Cleaner Emissions Estimates Form
- The closing date field has been removed from the Free Emissions Estimates claim form, production location profiles, API responses, and data downloads. Opening date information and the separate facility closure workflow remain unchanged.
- This change reduces confusion caused by facilities misinterpreting the field and submitting incorrect data. Since OS Hub has a dedicated process for reporting closures, this field is no longer necessary.
Claimed Data Gets Priority
- Data contributed by approved claimants through any channel (claims form, adding a single production location, or list upload) is now labeled as "Claimed" and ranked above crowdsourced values.
- This gives higher visibility to data points submitted by the production location directly.
Accurate Addresses in Data Downloads
- When claimants confirms a facility address during the claims process, that address now appears in data download exports, matching what already happens for the production location name.
- This ensures consistency and accuracy in data downloads.
Quieter Updates
- Saving claimed facility details without making any actual field changes no longer updates the "last modified" date or sends notifications to list contributors.
- This reduces unnecessary emails when no new information has been added.
Contributor Experience & Data Quality
Duplicate Location Warning
- When adding data for a single production location, contributors are now warned if they recently submitted a very similar location.
- This helps prevent accidental duplicates while allowing contributors to confirm and proceed if the submission is intentional.
Disassociating a contributor from a facility via API
- Contributors using the API can now fully manage their contributions by disassociating themselves from facilities or deactivating lists they've contributed.
- Using the POST /facilities/{id}/dissociate/ endpoint, contributors can remove their association with a facility entirely.
- This brings API functionality to parity with Excel list uploads, enabling contributors with large supplier networks and frequent supplier changes to automate their list management entirely via API.
Search Accuracy Improvements
- Processing Type Filter Fixed: Filtering by Processing Type now correctly returns all locations that display that value on their profile, including locations where the processing type is also a facility type (such as "Final Product Assembly").
- Sector Filter Now Matches Profile Display: Sector filtering has been corrected to return only locations currently showing that sector on their profile. Results no longer include locations with that sector only on outdated or superseded contributions, ensuring search results align with what users see on facility profiles.
