Updates and new features are regularly developed and released on Open Supply Hub, often based on feedback from users like you. Read what was included in the most recently released set of changes.
Here’s what you can expect from the most recent updates to Open Supply Hub:
Interaction Improvements:
- API Tab: API users will now see a tab called API in their settings. This tab includes information about a user's call allowance, renewal cadence (monthly or annually), and calls made within the current period.
- Non-Case-Sensitive Login: While investigating login issues reported by users, we discovered that usernames were being saved in a case sensitive format. The login behavior has been updated to handle upper- and lower-case variations of usernames.
- Latitude and Longitude Labels: To make it clear which coordinate is longitude and which is latitude on facility profiles, we've updated the profile to have labels for each coordinate.
- Merging from the Confirm/Reject Screen: In most cases, the OS Hub team completes the confirm/reject process for users that upload data via the front-end. As part of this process, data moderators often encounter duplicate records that they need to merge in a new set of browser windows. A change implemented as part of this release streamlines the merging process so that data moderators can initiate the merge from the confirm/reject screen, saving time and reducing errors from copy/pasting information between multiple tabs.
Refactoring, Automation and Architecture Changes:
Make Moderation Checkbox Logic Reusable: The logic built to support the "Merge from the Confirm/Reject screen" feature was saved as a component so that existing and future features can use the same logic, making this functionality easier to test.
Removed PPE Field Indexing and Display in API: At the start of the COVID Pandemic, OS Hub added support for data fields related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) products. Since then, our data model has evolved to include sector, product type, facility type, and processing type fields, making the PPE-specific fields obsolete. These fields have been removed from indexing and API display as part of this release.
New Test Environment: A new test environment was added to the system to support expanded automated test coverage and improve the testing and release process.
Resolved Bugs:
Duplicate Entries in Downloaded Files: Users who download data from the front-end website may have noticed duplicate rows in their downloaded files. This issue has been addressed.
Pending Lists Being Displayed on Contributor Profile: When users upload data to the front-end website, the list is in Pending status until the OS Hub Data Moderation team has approved the data. These pending lists were being displayed on the Contributor's profile before they were approved by OS Hub. This issue has been addressed.
Wrong Error Returned for Attempted Registration: Users who tried to create a new account with a username that already existed in the database previously received the message: An error prevented signing up. This has been updated to: A user with that email already exists. to make it clear why an issue occurred.
