May 15, 2026 Release Notes

Updates and new features are regularly developed and released on Open Supply Hub, often based on feedback from users like you. Read what was included in the most recently released set of changes.

Here’s what you can expect from the most recent updates to Open Supply Hub:

Add Data for a Single Production Location: Real-Time Validation

Instant Error Detection

Added automatic inline validation to the single location contribution form, alerting contributors to errors at the time of entry rather than after submission.

Blocking Validations

  • Non-Latin characters in any field (except Country or Sector Type) prevent submission
  • Values exceeding 200 characters in Name, Address, or Parent Company fields block submission with clear error messages

Non-Blocking Warnings

  • PO Box entries in addresses generate suggestions to remove them
  • Addresses under 25 characters prompt users to include more detail

What This Means

Contributors can now correct errors immediately during data entry, eliminating the need to wait for rejection messages and re-submit corrected data.

Spotlight Data Downloads: Quality & Accuracy Improvements

Fixed Missing Fields in Data Exports

Resolved an issue where claimed facilities were missing key fields in data download exports. Previously, processing_type_facility_type_raw, facility_type, processing_type, and product_type appeared blank in downloads even when the data was visible on profile pages. These fields now export correctly for all locations.

Partner Grievance Mechanism Data Now Complete

Added default values for partner Grievance Mechanism fields in both data downloads and the API. Fields from Labor Solutions, International Accord Foundation, and Ulula (including thematic coverage, mechanism type, access modality, coverage, and date information) now populate correctly instead of returning blank values.

Contributor List Management: Clarity & Status Improvements

More Supportive Language

Replaced all instances of "Rejected" with "Feedback Phase" across contributor list pages, reducing friction for contributors whose lists require revision.

Fixed List Replacement Status

Resolved a bug where replaced lists incorrectly retained active status after a new list was approved. Lists now correctly reflect "Replaced" upon replacement. Additionally, if a pending replacement list is rejected, the prior list's status is reverted so it remains available for future re-upload.

Platform Reliability & Monitoring Improvements

Enhanced System Monitoring

Investigated and documented root causes of two brief downtime incidents on April 21–22, 2026 (26 and 13 minutes respectively) affecting the Django app and Postgres health check endpoint. Findings and recommendations have been captured in a formal incident report to improve future platform stability.

New features and updates like these are often built based on feedback from OS Hub users. If you have any questions about these updates or would like to make a suggestion for future improvements, please contact us.
