OEKO-TEX® increases transparency, identifies collaboration opportunities and standardizes crucial data points

In its work to develop global standards for the textile and leather industry, OEKO-TEX® is managing data across a variety of entities and in over 60 countries. In their complex global network, simplification is the key to successfully managing internal systems and enhancing transparency to the public. By uploading their certified facilities to Open Supply Hub and receiving universal IDs and high quality names and addresses for them, OEKO-TEX® has been able to standardize data in their own systems. This improvement has led to fewer errors and increased efficiency for their team, while also giving OEKO-TEX® a tool to demonstrate their commitment to transparency.

Sharing certified facilities on Open Supply Hub has benefitted OEKO TEX® in their relationships with external stakeholders as well. Because Open Supply Hub is a tool used by organizations around the world and across supply chains, uploading data has increased the visibility of their OEKO TEX® STeP certified facilities with responsible sourcing decision-makers. It has also allowed them to identify which facilities they share with other programs, like ZDHC, kicking off collaboration opportunities between their respective initiatives.
