January 11, 2025 Release Notes

Updates and new features are regularly developed and released on Open Supply Hub, often based on feedback from users like you. Read what was included in the most recently released set of changes.

Here’s what you can expect from the most recent updates to Open Supply Hub:

Interaction Updates:

We have added the contributor type value to /api/contributors/ endpoint: This update enhances the existing API endpoint by including the contributor type in addition to the contributor ID and name. Users can now access more detailed information, such as whether a contributor is a Multi-Stakeholder Initiative, Civil Society Organization, or Brand/Retailer. This improvement enables better data analysis and provides greater clarity for API users, paving the way for more advanced features in the future.

Refactoring, Automation, and Architecture Changes:

OS Hub is in the process of developing the /v1/production-locations API endpoint, which will support GET and POST calls for downloading data and uploading production locations to OS Hub as well as provide expanded search functionality.

Included in this release:

  • We have released the PATCH /v1/production-locations endpoint.
  • Contributors will be able to update existing Production Location data via API using a PATCH request. All updates will be routed through a new moderation queue for review, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Get preliminary documentation on this endpoint. All endpoints in the Beta section are accessible for testing.
  • Note that this endpoint is still in development and will first be used to support the upcoming Single Location Contribution workflow before being rolled out more broadly.

New features and updates like these are often built based on feedback from OS Hub users. If you have any questions about these updates or would like to make a suggestion for future improvements, please contact us.
